Dr. Carolyn Watters, PhD

Dr. Watters tenure as Dalhousie University's Vice-President Academic and Provost ended as of July 31st, 2018. She is a professor of computer science with extensive research and publishing in the fields of e-commerce and health informatics. Dr. Watters is well known at Dalhousie, having served for many years as Associate Dean and then Dean of Graduate Studies, and as Acting Vice-President. Dr. Watters is an experienced, creative academic leader and has a long record as an active scholar in computer science. 

Andrew S. Nevin, PhD

Partner – Chief Economist and FS Advisory Leader, PwC Nigeria; Global Leader – Project Blue (Envisioning and Shaping the Future of Financial Services)

Dr. Andrew S. Nevin is a leading global thinker with over 30 years of professional experience as a strategy consultant, economist, line manager, entrepreneur and private equity investor. In his professional career he has lived in Asia, North America, and Europe. Since early 2012, he has been based in Lagos, Nigeria in his role as Partner of PwC and Chief Economist of both PwC and Binkabi to try to create a strong and vibrant economy in the world's most dynamic continent. He is a frequent TV commentator (CNBC) on global and African economic affairs, specialising in putting Nigeria's critical economic issues on national agenda. His personal economics writing (www.nevinomics.com) focuses on shifting thinking from a GDP lens to a wider lens. Dr. Andrew S. Nevin holds an undergraduate degree in computer science, a MA in Philosophy & Politics from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes scholar, and has a PhD in Economics from Harvard University.

Michael G. Ryan

Mr. Ryan is currently serving a group of businesses he has been building for the past three decades in very diverse holdings covering: software development, managing wi-fi networks, automotive service, metal fabrication and industrial maintenance. He is the past CEO/President of Envirosystems, past Vice Chairman of Atlantic Industrial Services Inc and past president of Philip Services Corporation Atlantic. With a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Mr. Ryan has been a shareholder and/or director in more than 20 start-up ventures, and has lead more than 40 corporate mergers and acquisitions.

Brian Lowe

Co-founder, Director, First Angel Network Association

As an accomplished entrepreneur and businessman with over thirty years experience, Mr. Lowe brings invaluable expertise to MathResources, having been responsible for the incorporation and funding of several startup companies. In January 2002, Brian became a founding Director and the Chief Operating Officer of ImmunoVaccine Technologies Inc. Mr. Lowe is recognized for the incorporation and initial funding of approximately $3 million for IVT. Previous to IVT, Mr. Lowe raised over $10 million in startup funding. He is currently a shareholder and Director of several operating companies in Nova Scotia. Mr. Lowe is co-founder and a director of the First Angel Network Association, Atlantic Canada's Association for Private Investors. He is also a director of BioNova, Nova Scotia Life Sciences Association which is a not-for-profit organization.
